Maintenance Services

The Maintenance Services Department keeps the City of Broken Arrow running smoothly behind the scenes. From maintaining City buildings and vehicles to managing purchasing and asset tracking, this team ensures employees have the safe, reliable spaces, tools, and equipment they need to serve our community every day.


Maintenance Services Leadership

The Maintenance Services Department is led by Maintenance Services Director, Ryan Baze, who oversees department operations, strategic planning, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery of services citywide. Under his leadership, the team works collaboratively with all City departments to support infrastructure, fleet reliability, and responsible management of public assets. Director Baze is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, service quality, and operational excellence.

Building Maintenance Division

The Building Maintenance Division is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of City facilities. This team makes sure our buildings are safe, functional, and welcoming for both employees and visitors.

What we do:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on City buildings and grounds
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural issues
  • Support renovations, remodels, and minor construction projects
  • Ensure facilities meet safety, accessibility, and building code standards
  • Respond to work orders from City departments in a timely, customer-focused manner

Fleet Maintenance Division

The Fleet Maintenance Division keeps the City’s vehicles and equipment in top working condition, supporting everything from public safety to public works. This team helps ensure that police vehicles, fire apparatus, utility trucks, heavy equipment, and pool vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to go.

What we do:

  • Inspect, service, and repair City vehicles and equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend vehicle life and reduce downtime
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using modern tools and technology
  • Coordinate with departments on scheduling repairs and vehicle availability
  • Maintain records of services, repairs, and parts usage

Purchasing & Assets Division

The Purchasing & Assets Division ensures City departments have the supplies, materials, and equipment they need to serve the community, while also being good stewards of public funds. This team manages purchasing processes and tracks City-owned assets throughout their lifecycle.

What we do:

  • Coordinate purchasing of equipment, parts, tools, and supplies for City operations
  • Work with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and quality products
  • Track, inventory, and manage City assets, tools, and specialized equipment
  • Support budget planning by providing asset and inventory data
  • Oversee surplus, replacement, and disposal of aging equipment
